Responsibility of Show Sponsors

This list is meant to help the show sponsors get organized for their own contests. Every aspect of the show should be checked with the chief judge of the contest. The chief judge of the show has the final say in all decisions. The following list is just a guide.

  1. Make provisions for Medical Aide. ( Have ambulance crew or first aide crew available at contest.

  2. Have field marked with hash marks. Yard markers on both sides of field. 

  3. Besides having guides for each band, there must be show staff at the entrance gate for the bands.

  4. Provision for Judges Room. If possible a separate room for tabulators and discuss the availability of copy machine. Because of the distance most judges travel to the shows it is asked that some form of refreshments are available. 

  5. Supply power to press box.

  6. Verify with Chief Judge the number of judges coming to show and the special awards to be given.

  7. Provide Runners for score sheets during show. ( not members of the host marching unit)

  8. Cover the payment of Judges and tapes with the Chief Judge.

  9. Be aware of cancellation requirements.

  10. Have cell phone number at stadium to use as a panic number.

  11. Plan to have Runners, Announcer and person in charge of band entrance gate meet with chief judge at least 45 minutes prior to show.

  12. Have power supply for bands to use near pit area.

  13. If the field conditions permit we ask for extra out of bounce line be drawn. This line should be 5 yards in front of the sideline and extend from the Goal to Goal.
